Elesha as a racehorse trainer, and Rodney as an Operations Manager for an interstate freight company. Both Elesha and Rodney have been involved in the family business breaking in and training racehorses for many years, as well as pursuing their many equestrian pursuits.

Tasmanian Horse Transport has been transporting horses throughout Australia's Eastern states since 1990, currently with a fleet of 3 trucks, the company is going through a growth stage under new ownership, and looking at adding more trucks to our fleet.
We look forward to continuing the first class service for you and your precious horses, locally and interstate, and growing this iconic Tasmanian business well in to the future.

When the ownership opportunity presented itself in 2019 Elesha and Rodney Spillane along with their two sons Charlie and Jack knew that this iconic Tasmanian business was a perfect fit for their family. With decades of involvement in the racing industry and a large variety of equestrian disciplines, breaking, training and competing, there is no question how passionate this family is about their horses. Add to that Rodneys years of interstate and local truck driving experience, including managing a fleet of freight trucks, there really couldn’t be a better business to fit with their strengths and passion.

Owners
ELESHA SPILLANE
Elesha grew up assisting her father breaking in and pre training horses and ponies for various uses. After the family became involved in training racehorses Elesha gained employment with outside trainers in order to expand her experience, working for trainers such as Gai Waterhouse and Barry Campbell. She went on to become a successful trainer in her own right until family commitments moved life in a different direction. Elesha has experience in many different equestrian disciplines, winning state titles in show jumping and representing Tasmania at Pony Club and Polocrosse.
Elesha has experience in Business Management, completing a Bachelor degree in Accounting and Human Resources Management. She is passionate about running a successful business and providing a great customer experience every time. To be able to work day to day with the beautiful horses we are trusted with is a dream job.
RODNEY SPILLANE
Rodney has decades of horse handling experience, assisting Elesha training racehorses, playing polocrosse (representing Tasmania) and breaking in and educating young horses. He is passionate about giving horses the best chance to succeed in their chosen discipline by giving them the best possible start.
Prior to THT Rodney has been employed for many years as an interstate freight driver and Operations Manager of an interstate freight company. His years of experience operating machines and driving trucks means his attention to detail concerning the maintenance of our trucks is second to none. Horses are his hobby, he is a kind patient horseman who takes pride in seeing horses he handles improve with a kind hand.
